Welcome to the inaugural issue of the Journal of Human Resources Education.
The goal of this new e-journal is to make a meaningful contribution to the teaching
of human resources management in our universities by providing informative thought
pieces and resources that will aid faculty in instruction and enhance the learning
process.
Starting a new journal is a challenging, and humbling, undertaking. The successful
launch of this journal is not the result of the efforts of the editor alone. The
following individuals have made this inaugural issue possible: the authors, those
who have volunteered to serve on the editorial board, Sven Aelterman who set up
the JHRE website, and Dean Don Hines of the Sorrell College of Business who listened
to my idea and agreed to sponsor this undertaking. My thanks to all!
However, one issue does not a successful journal make. Now that we are up and running,
I encourage those of you who are involved in the teaching of human resources management
to contribute to future issues of JHRE by submitting thought pieces, teaching methods,
cases, exercises, resource reviews, and other materials that will enhance the educational
experience of those teaching and learning about human resources management. Let
us share our individual experiences for the benefit of all.
