Thanks to all who made the inaugural issue of JHRE a success – the authors, editorial board members, Dean Don Hines of the Sorrell College of Business, and Sven Aelterman who, as technology specialist for the SCOB, has the task of putting all of this material online.
One thing is certain – starting a new journal is hard work. And it appears that it doesn’t get much easier. As stated previously, the goal of this new e-journal is to make a meaningful contribution to the teaching of human resources management in our universities by providing informative thought pieces and resources that will aid faculty in instruction and enhance the learning process. Given this goal, the key to making this journal a success is the support of human resource faculty who are willing to share their research, teaching methods, cases, exercises, resource reviews, and other materials that will enhance the educational experience of those teaching and learning about human resources management. I ask each of you who benefit from this publication, in turn, to share your approaches and materials with others in the field who are trying to elevate the practice of human resources management.
I am also pleased to announce that JHRE has received its ISSN (International Standard Serial Number) and is now included in the National Serials Data Program of the Library of Congress. Our next step to enhance our visibility and attractiveness is to seek listing in Cabell’s Directory of Publishing Opportunities.
