Bibb Graves Laptop Testing

Laptop Testing Program Details

The Sorrell College of Business has 65 small laptops available that can be deployed to any Bibb Graves classroom for test taking purposes. Instructors can remove the need for most paper-based testing by creating their quizzes and exams on Blackboard and scheduling the deployment of the laptops to their classroom.

Administering the tests via Blackboard eliminates the need for dozens of paper copies of tests, can increase test security by randomizing and shuffling questions, and provides faster feedback to students about their performance.

To schedule the laptops for your class, please contact Monica Stephens and provide the following information:

  • Your course info (course number and section)
  • The number of students
  • The classroom number
  • The date and time of the test

You will receive a confirmation via return e-mail ASAP.

Laptop Testing Procedure

  1. Instructor develops the test in Blackboard.
For non-Blackboard tests (e.g. a publisher's site like a Pearson MyLab or McGraw-Hill Connect), please inquire first to make sure the system requirements can be met.
  2. Instructor schedules the laptops for the date and time of the test.
  3. SCOB IT staff will deploy the laptops to the classroom immediately before the start of the class.
  4. Instructor administers the test.
Please note that SCOB IT staff will NOT proctor the test. Instructors must remain in the classroom.
  5. When finished, students simply close the laptop and can move it aside.
  6. At the end of class, SCOB IT staff will collect the laptops.
