Assessment for the Financial Economics Concentration consists of a formative and capstone assessment.
Formative Assessment
A financial fundamentals test will be administered in FIN 4437 - Financial Institutions. It will consist of 20 multiple choice questions with a time limit of 1 hour.
This test must be proctored and count for 10% of the final course grade.
This test will be administered in the Canvas shell of the course. A course assessment package is available. See Obtaining Assessment Materials.
Capstone Assessment
The finance concentration capstone course is FIN 4438 - Bank Management.
The concentration exit exam has 6 essay questions divided over 6 areas:
- Valuations, including capital structure, dividend policy, working capital and derivatives
- Risk and return, including capital budgeting and cost of capital
- Financial statement analysis
- Banking services and regulations
- Techniques associated with bank management and profitability
- Issues associated with bank management and profitability
The time limit is 2 hours.
The test must be proctored and must count for 15% of the final course grade.
This test will be administered in the Canvas shell of the course. A course assessment package is available. See Obtaining Assessment Materials.
Student Satisfaction Survey
Each student will also be invited to complete a program satisfaction survey consisting of five Likert-scale questions. This satisfaction survey will be administered in FIN 4438 and requires no instructor involvement to set up.
