Alfa Insurance is currently looking for two IT interns for the summer.  Listed below is what they are looking for:

 Enterprise Architect Intern:

1) Candidate must be enrolled in a computing major or MIS major

2) Candidate must have completed the equivalent of two years of that major

3) Candidate should have at least one programming course, preferably in an object-oriented language like C#, C++ or Java.

4) Candidate should have good ability to work independently.


Intern will help with research, analysis and documentation and/or help improve our EA SharePoint repository.


IT Application Intern:

1) Candidate must be enrolled in a computing major or MIS major

2) Candidate must have completed the equivalent of two years of that major

3) Candidate should have at least one programming course, preferably in an object-oriented language like C#, C++ or Java.

4) Candidate should have good ability to work independently.

5) Graphic Design skills needed.


Intern will help with set up/development for new software/programs.

Position Summary: Performs dutiesas assigned in support of department specific functions in a logistics environment to gain supervised practical experience and develop on-the-job skills. Works in a general support role, learns the complexities of GAL business functions, logistical systems, and the delivery of automotive parts for customer satisfaction. Acquire Technical, Interpersonal, and Critical Thinking competencies. 

Essential Functions (include but are not limited to):

  • Perform operational and administrative functions and technical support for assigned department

  • Obtain and assemble information for use by the department

  • Attend and participate in learning opportunities such as training, meetings, or conferences offered by the department

  • Practice applying knowledge acquired in the classroom to real world business situations

  • Develop, research, and complete a project developed to meet the needs and goals of the assigned department.

  • Present final project to assigned department and Human Resources.

  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management Systems (BMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS) requirements

  • Meet all other requirements as assigned

  • Ability to perform service in a timely and professional manner. Strong customer focus skills. Must be flexible and easily adapt to change. Some travel required. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, and be detail oriented. Previous experience is a plus. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Willing to fill-in or assist others. Punctual, regular and consistent attendance. This job requires some physical labor and lifting of heavy objects. Valid Driver's license is required.

East Central Mental Health: Temporary Part-Time Information System/Computer Technician:

Prefer someone pursing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Information Technology.  Experience or training in multiple computer programs.  Temporary position will last at least 11 to 12 months (if not longer).

Some of the duties include the following:

  • Assist Business Manager/System Manager with multiple IT projects.
  • Will be one of the contact people for video conference issues and other electronic devices. 
  • Will be one of the contact people for issues with the electronic medical records program and OrderConnect (e-Prescribing Program). 
  • Will place new computers and printers at program sites.
  • Will run several reports for the agency.
  • Other duties will be discussed during the interview.
